Lost Boys, is by far one of the best Vampire Horror films ever made. Am I wrong? No I thought not. I mean it was a brilliant Horror/Comedy of its time. Why should people mess with a film that is now in the top ten vampire films list?
Well they did. They quite frankly fucked it up. Lets face it what sequels actually do better then the original? There are the few that do but not many ever do which is why some sequels are direct to dvds. Which is what happened to The Lost Boys: The Tribe.
It had been around for years that they where planning on making another Lost Boys.
Well they finally did and guess what it sucked!
It did have Corey Feldman aka Edgar Frog from the first movie. He was the vampire hunting under ages teen. So by rights it should have had some cool factor to the film yet it didn’t. Corey really didn’t feel like he had the acting down. I really like his films when he was younger like Stand by Me, The 'burbs , The Goonies and Gremlins. All of which I could watch a number of times and not get bored of them. Yet his acting in the Lost Boys two crap didn’t seem to cut it for me.
Anyhow.
The second films centres around a brother and sister who move to there aunties [How original it sounds already] when the newbies get invited to a party being thrown by vampires. Where the girl falls for the head vampire [I really cant handle all this originality] the over protective brother decided he must save his sister before she turns into a full vampire. [OMG no] which was where Frog came in. He still hunts the undead. But is also part vampire too…. Unless I herd it wrong…. Im not going back to check as mah to sit and watch that film again would be hell.
The only thing that kept me watching was the Tad Hilgenbrink who reminded me of James from Xmen aka Cyclops. I think it’s the eyes and chin…
There where at best a few funny moments in the film. The ending was more then likely the best. After he saves his sister they go back tot here crabby little box home outside there aunts side down coverd in blood with a can of beet not talking [like they where in shock] Chirs is about to turn on the tv when the auntie storms in yelling at them saying if she catches them smoking weed she will phone the cops on them no questions asked then stormed out then they just carried on drinking there drink.
The vampire dustings if that’s what you could call them and such didn’t seem tru to the original film. And the cheesey part where Frog and Chris where thinking of where the vamp hide out could be and Frog is all…. Vampires like to live in dang dark under ground places, smells like rotting, rats, leaks and so forth… hello has he seen other vampire films? Vampires like to be rich they like nice homes… Angel anyone? Lestat de Lioncourt anyone? I could go on….
I wouldn’t have wasted my money on this film [well I didn’t as its my rents] was a disappointment at best. What happened to original storylines? Gah people think out side of the cardboard box cliché vampire films where it’s a brother and sister moving some where after the death of there p-rents and in the end they all save each other and live happily ever after. Im bored of them. There crap and cheap!!
Yeah so I really enjoyed the film. Total two thumbs up!
