Shuttera disappointment!!!

Shutter had a great idea, you know the old folks tale of souls being seen in photos and junk. Well if you’re a sci-fi geek then you would know I guess. If not then hey it would be like talking about which footballer earns the most to a Barbie. Pointless and useless.
Yes so the film well. Hm I was looking forward to it. I was all meh the bad review it got cant be real I mean they gave bad reviews to The Ring and the Grudge and both films where really good. So I though this would be the same. It had the dude from Dawson’s Creek and Rachael Taylor who some geeks will recognize from Man Thing. The really crap Marvel film that was well beyond rubbish!
Back to the point. Taylor was really the only thing holding the film together as well as the guy from Dawson’s Creek, Joshua Jackson who geeks will remember from cult classic horrors such as Scream 2 and Urban Legends. As well as my all time fav film Cruel Intentions.
It started with there wedding. Ah happy. Then on there honeymoon [which was also Jackson’s first day of work pf what a honeymoon huh] they went to Japan. Yes I mean that was the start of the cheeseness. I mean all they needed to do was post a photo of SMG in the frame work and wham it would just be another horror film in Japan after a Japanese remake I mean come on. The Grudge worked this film didn’t!

The run over a women stood in the road they crash get out and the girl is gone. OOOOOH. Also they just about jumped out of the car after the crash I mean hello they should have been hurt pf.
So yes. Moving a little they both start to see things. And also every photo they took after the crash had a spirit on it. Some white line thing spread across. Taylor thinks this is odd and investigates. Yes she is blond and yes she kicks ass. SMG made the role!
Moving on from my little Buffyness.
Anyhow ghost comes scary scary! Well not really. There was about 3 chair scenes where it moves around slowly or the body just sits there. I mean come on it didn’t work the first time so why would it the second or third. Then they go to the ghost home to find her [after her lovely husband tells her that he knows the girl who they ran over and that they had a thing yonks ago and she could let go of him so he dumped her] The house was just about empty really no people there. Yet it was meant to be a family home. Anyhow there is this noise. A scratching like noise, you know the normal spooky noises they play well it was pointless they should have just had it silent it would have worked way better. They find the girl sat in a chair with her back to them. They walk closer see a few flys until they go to touch her and her head falls off. She had rotted away. Yet they didn’t seem to have smelled that. I mean hello have they never watched CSI all the dead bodys smell. God!
Anyhow they said they will cremate the bones. Then she will be gone. Pf what dot hey know. The spirit attacks them again. This time Taylor shouts at the ghost telling her he never loved her and junk making the ghost way more angry or well so you would think. But it ran away scared… then they burned the bones. Yet with no salt or holy water have they ever seen Supernatural ?? God they know nothing!
Anyhow they go back to America when Taylor finds out after finding a suit case of the dead girls clothing and camera that her newbie husband had lied to her. He had took photos of the dead girl whilst his friends raped her. The sicko.
So anyhow she works out that the girl was trying to warn her and junk she leaves him yay and he realizes the ghost aint gone but will be with him forever he tries to burn it of him [she was sat on his back ?? strange] which leads to him going into a mental ward. The end.

Grr it was just soooo classic. You knew what was coming almost all the time the only thing that kept it together was the acting. It they had done less spooky music and more silence it could have worked better. But no. It was rubbish. Shuttera disappointment.
